Gary on “Late Nights with Jim Bohannon”
Gary was recently a guest on “Late Nights with Jim Bohannon” and talked about CSI:NY, Lt. Dan Band, Operation International Children and the early days of Steppenwolf Theatre. During the segment, Gary took a number of calls from listeners and answered a variety of questions touching on topics such as the development of “Mac Taylor,” bass guitars, the evolution of Jonathan Flora’s movie Lt. Dan Band: For the Common Good, the quality of television programming, and his upcoming USO tour.
Audio of the interview is available at Jim Bohannon Archives. (The segment with Gary begins about 40:00 and ends 1:19)

And more new Gary photos
There is always plenty of Gary of news to share when the television season is underway, and today we can point everyone in the direction of RobertBenson.com.
There are a number of superb new (professonal) photographs of Gary that Benson took at a photo shoot last weekfor an upcoming issue of American Profile Magazine. These are, by far, some of the best photographs of Gary being Gary.
Quiet…
We’re still here, but there’s not been much news lately. A couple of quick items:
Those of you in the area, don’t forget that the Lt. Dan Band will be playing on July 21 at Cantigny Park in Wheaton, Illinois. You can find more information here.
We’ve also been told (oh… 500 times or so… please stop e-mailing now!) that announcements about the Star Trek XI cast will be made in late July at Comic-Con. It will be nice to move from rumors to facts.
Gary’s Birthday
Gary’s birthday is this Saturday, March 17. If you haven’t done so already and would like to leave a birthday greeting, please share your happy birthday wishes at our guestbook.
Edited to add: This post is not the guestbook, so leaving a comment here doesn’t count! Click here to sign the guestbook.
Actorboy Records
Gary has started a new independent record label called Actorboy Records with actor/writer Ted Dykstra. The first release from Actorboy Records is by Canadian artist Melanie Doane, called “You Are What You Love.” The album will be released Valentine’s Day through Melanie’s official website. Gary became a fan of Melanie’s while filming in Toronto, Canada. Gary and Melanie will be numerous press appearances in Toronto during the next week. For the intinerary click here. Our thanks to Mitchell Hunter for this news.
Gary on John Frankenheimer
The Director’s Guild asked Gary to write a piece on John Frankenheimer for their newsletter. He did so and the article is also available on the Steppenwolf Theatre website. You can download it here in PDF format. Thanks to Susan for the tip!
