Coming June 6, one of Gary’s early TV roles: My Name is Bill W., starring James Woods, Jobeth Williams and James Garner.
We expect season 2 of CSI:NY will be announced any day now.
TV Shows on DVD reports that CSI:NY is likely to be released on DVD on October 25. The set will most likely include the crossover episode/backdoor pilot from CSI: Miami.
Now that CSI:NY has bumped Gary’s profile, let’s take another stab at getting George Wallace on DVD.
Here are two things we can all do:
1) Amazon
Go to Amazon and enter George Wallace in the search box, with DVD selected in the format box. It should show up first or second on the search list. When you go to the page that says “this title is not yet released on DVD,” please enter your e-mail address and ask for notification when it is released. The studios do keep an eye on the Amazon list to see which titles are in highest demand. Plus, Amazon users can view the list of top titles and add their votes.
2) Warner Brothers Home Video
Send a postcard to Warner Bros.
Please send polite postcards (yes, postcards) requesting George Wallace on DVD to:
Mr. Jim Cardwell, President
Warner Home Video
4000 Warner Boulevard
Burbank, CA 91522
Be sure to include your name and address. If you receive a response, please let us know.
Thanks for your help! I have no doubt that fans’ interest as expressed to MGM played a role in the DVD release of Of Mice and Men and the special edition. Let’s see if we can get the same treatment for the Emmy-winning George Wallace.
Two of Gary’s older projects will be released on DVD soon — That Championship Season and Jack the Bear. Recent release The Forgotten will also be out soon. Pre-order links below:
The Forgotten (release January 18, 2005)
That Championship Season (release February 8, 2005)
Jack the Bear (release December 14, 2004)
Fallen Angel is now available for purchase on the Hallmark.com web site. Unfortunately we can’t give you a direct link because all of the pages on the Hallmark site are linked to a session ID, but you should be able to find it with a search — it’s under Gifts: Movies: Hallmark Hall of Fame in both DVD and VHS formats.
We are still anticipating an October 31 wide release for The Human Stain. The Big Bounce is currently scheduled for a January release.
Sadly, the “new” (October 7) release of A Midnight Clear does not appear to be widescreen (at least not the copy I received from Amazon). This may simply have been a website error on Amazon’s part. If anyone knows differently, or has actually seen a copy of AMC labeled “widescreen” somewhere, please drop us a line at sinisefans @ sinisefans.com. Sorry to be the bearer of sad news.
Would you like to see a DVD release of Gary’s Emmy-Award winning performance in George Wallace?
Please send polite postcards requesting George Wallace on DVD to:
Mr. Mike Radiloff
VP of DVD Marketing
Warner Home Video
4000 Warner Boulevard
Burbank, CA 91522
You can also send postcards to Mr. Jim Cardwell, President, Warner Home Video, at the same address.
Be sure to include your name and address. If you receive a response, please let us know here at Sinisefans.
As we promised… here is the link to pre-order the Of Mice and Men Special Edition from Amazon.com. Amazon’s pre-order price is only $14.99. According to Amazon, the release date is February 4, even early than we’d previously heard. Enjoy the DVD, and thanks for your support!
Big Of Mice and Men news! On March 4, 2003, MGM will re-release the 1992 version of John Steinbeck’s classic Of Mice and Men. Featuring a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and English 2.0 surround track, supplements include an audio commentary with Gary Sinise, 2 new featurettes, deleted scenes with optional commentary, makeup tests, and the trailer. Retail is $19.95. Amazon doesn’t have this listed for pre-order yet, but as soon as they do we will post a link.
In less wonderful news, we hear rumour that Miramax might be pushing The Human Stain back to fall 2003. We will post more information as we receive it.
