Gary Scheduled for CNN’s Larry King Tomorrow Night
Gary is scheduled to appear on CNN’s Larry King Live tomorrow night (Saturday, January 13) to talk about the Fisher House charity. Fisher House provides cost-effective housing near military and VA medical centers, allowing family members to be near wounded or ill military personnel or veterans while they are hospitalized.
The Lt. Dan Band is scheduled to perform a benefit for Fisher House on January 27 at the Washington Convention Center. Details here.
Larry King airs at 9 pm EST/6pm PST, and is repeated several times Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Check here or in your local listings for times.
According to the National Press Club, Gary is scheduled to appear as a lunch speaker on January 26. The topic is listed as “TBA” but given the Press Club’s interests, I expect it will focus on Gary’s veterans’/USO/OIC work.
These lunches are often televised by C-SPAN, so we will keep an eye out and let you know when it’s scheduled to air.
The Daily Herald reports on a phone interview a high school freshman honors class conducted with Gary about Of Mice and Men. Even better, you can listen to the entire chat — there’s a link to a downloadable mp3 file at the bottom of the article.
(Thanks very much to Bettina for the tip!)
Here’s a (hopefully permanent) link to the TV Guide story on CSI:NY. Don’t miss it! And be sure to buy the December 4 issue from a newsstand while there are still a few around.
If you aren’t a subscriber, grab a copy of the December 4 TV Guide at the supermarket this week! Gary and Melina Kanakaredes are on the cover, and there’s a nice story about CSI:NY inside.
You can see a preview of the article and a small version of the cover here (this link will only work for about a week).
If you missed Gary’s recent appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman or simply must enjoy his Katharine Hepburn impression a few more times, see the entire segment online here:
Note: Gary does discuss an upcoming episode of CSI NY and the surprise headed Mac’s way. If you’ve effectively avoided the chatter about it thus far, you’ll want to skip this video until a later time.
According to Bill Zweker’s column in the Sun Times, Gary and the Lt. Dan Band grabbed dinner and a few wardrobe accessories at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at the Navy Pier Saturday, October 14th before their concert later that evening at the USO gala. (If anyone was fortunate enough to attend the gala, we would love to hear about it.)
If you haven’t been to a concert yet or you just gotta have more, the band starts November with two shows in California and another in Missouri. On Saturday, November 4th, they perform at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield, and the following night, November 5th, they play the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.
Later that week, the band travels to Kansas City, Missouri for a Friday night show at the Uptown Theatre to raise funds for Operation Iraqi Children. For more information see Benefit Concert
For further details about the upcoming concerts and other Lt. Dan Band news, check out the fresh new look of the band’s website here. Don’t miss the Galllery with teriffic photos from recent shows!
Gary is scheduled to appear on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight/very early tomorrow morning — 12:35 am EDT/PDT on CBS. Check your local listings and/or set those TiVos.
Eagle-eyed Deb caught this one for all of us — thanks, Deb!
2006 Candlelight Processional at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Center
Recent press releases from Walt Disney World are listing Gary as one of the celebrity narrators for the Candlelight Processional at Epcot this coming holiday season. According to Disney, Gary is scheduled December 24th through 26th.
Presentations of the Candlelight Processional are daily, Novemeber 24th through December 30th at the American Garden Theatre within the park. The performances are included with regular Epcot admission. Dinner packages are available for an additional charge and include preferred seating for a performance of the Candlelight Processional as well as dinner at an Epcot restaurant. To make reservations for these packages, guests can call 407/WDW-DINE.
Gary has been one of Epcot’s most popular celebrity narrators and draws large crowds - even before his popularity on CSI NY. It will be a delight to have him back in Florida for this wonderful and heartwarming holiday performance. However, please note that narrators are scheduled to change (and did last year, when Gary was announced and was later replaced).
Chicagoland fans, Gary is scheduled to lead the seventh-inning stretch sing along (along with some football player) during tomorrow’s Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
As most of you know, Gary has been the voice of Cadillac’s “Break Through” ad campaign for some time now. Cadillac recently announced a new ad campaign that will use “different voices and music for every execution to directly connect with each target consumer group.” (Wow, love the PR speak.) Whether this means an end to the Gary-voiced commercials entirely isn’t clear, but it seems that campaign might be coming to an end.
Stay cool, wherever you are, and have a great weekend.
