I am a father of a U.S. Army Officer that has served two tours in Iraq. I want to thank Gary and the group for what they do for the troops. I am a Vietnam Vet and I still remember an all girl band from Appleton, Wisconsin that came to my base in Thailand in 1968. That gives you an idea how important it is to have someone from \"home\" come over to see the troops because it is still a fond memory for me 40 years later. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Gary and your band.

Hello Gary,
I just watched your special about your visit to Iraq and I found myself in tears. You see, my father was a veteran of WWII flying 30 missions in a bomber over Germany. All my life, I was taught to respect the United States of America, it’s flag, and all Veterans. My father would stand to attention in our living room when the Star Spangled Banner was played at games on TV. Just to know that men like you take time out of their schedules to give back to our service men and women makes me again proud to be an American and returns my fatih in the human race. Thank you so much and to your crew!! I know beyond any doubt you made a difference and will be blessed in your life!

Enjoyed the Iraq special tonight. Didn\’t realize that Gary is such a talented musician. He also deserves the \"Mr. Nice Guy\" award. There\’s a special warmth in his demeanor. My son AND his daughter are both currently serving in Iraq, so the show was especially meaningful to me. God bless you, Gary.

Hello Gary:
I want to thank you for your time and dedication towards our troops. I am a proud mother of a two US Marines, a daughter and a son. My son served three terms in Iraq, once for the starting of the war, the second time for the Fight for Fallujah and the last time for the elections.
We need more actors like you who can give these brave men and women the support they deserved. Aside from any political beleives we need to give our love, support and embraced them.
I really enjoyed tonight’s program, you are a true American and a good man.
Again, thank you so much for everything you are doing for all our troops.
May God bless you and your family and May God Bless America!!

What a wonderfully inspiring show, as the widow of a Vietnam Veteran, I know how many times my late husband spoke about the shows he nearly got to see. What you don’t know is that the men and women in the field that didn’t get to see you will also talk of you for years to come, just because you did come. I have admired your work for years and through the special on television, I now know another name that is part of your band, Kimo Williams. See my husband was a Combat Engineer, in the 100th Float Bridge Co. who served in Vietnam 68 -69, he passed away due to agent orange related illness, so he may have made it home but the saga of War comes back years later and keeps impacting your life. I hope that some time after we bring our troops home, you will be able to come to my home town to perform in our beautiful opera house, for our veterans, patriot riders and families of not our forgotten soldiers. God has blessed you, Linda

Mr. Sinise, I was fortunate enough to see (and record) ON THE ROAD during Fox’s 5 AM airing, today. The impact was as moving and powerful as any experienced in church. To say that I’m grateful is … well, that’s an understatement; I join hundreds of thousands in a respectful salute. And now for a question: May I purchase copies of the special? My husband, like many others in our family, is a patriot and veteran currently battling through the final stages of cancer. At this juncture, it would mean so very much to him–to us all–to be able to view ON THE ROAD again and again. Thank you, sir.

Gary;
I watched you special last night on Fox, and was very moved. I had no idea your involement with the USO, our troops or the charities you have started for the Children of Iraq. It’s too bad that your commitment to our troops is not more recognized by others in the main stream media and Hollywood. It appears you are one of the few, but one of the proud Americans not afraid to become involved in thanking our troops for what they do for us. For that, I thank you.

I watched your show last night & was so in awe of all you have done for our troops and the people of IRAQ. More Americans need to watch to see who Saddam Hussain really was, to see our troops in a war zone, to see the people of IRAQ are responding to Americans. My son is currently in Afghanistan, 19 years old, I could not be prouder of him. He is a hugh Forest Gump fan, we have a dog named, Bubba, who just passed away this summer, and one named Forest plus numerous cats, Gumbo Max, Lt. Dan and Jenny. He is coming home on leave in the next couple of days where I am sure he will watch the movie and I am sure I will tell him all about you and your LT. Dan band!! Thank you for all you do for our troops! You are also a hero!

Gary;
I am from Alabama and setved two tours in Nam, 64-65 66-67, 2 years 3 mo &17 days. I saw Bob Hope 3 times and remember how much it ment to me then when I see the pictures from Cu Chi in 1966.
I was pleased with your acting job in Forrest Gump!!! Know that now you have moved up the ladder because you are doing something to help now. You may not understand but maby you will, You are honored as Martha Ray was by me.
I have my legs but have fought cancer for 9 years because of agent orange. I will go for the 5 treatment of 15 on the 1/19 and then some more chemo. After these rounds of radation it will be 135 treatments that I have gone trough not counting the chemo. Chemo to follow.
Thank you for doing the job, supporting the troops!

Super special, super band from a super man. I really enjoyed the special again today Sunday the 25th, promoted it on my blog and encourage people to purchase the DVD. You’re all fine people for devoting the time to our deserving troops and when you said (loosely paraphrasing)you would like this to be the Bob Hope tours of the New Millennium you sir most certainly can fill the shoes.

Dear Gary,
Alot of my relatives served in the armed forces. Including my husband and brother. They didn’t have anyone come to them and offer kind words or any form of entertainment for them. You seem like such a good person. I had an opportunity to actually meet you when you went to Disneyworld in 2007. I shook your hand before you got on a Peter Pan ride. I blew it, I started asking you for your autograph. I should have just told you how much I loved your pictures, especially Of Mice and Men.
Thank you, we need more kind people like you. You made my day the moment I met you.
Sincerely
Glenda Slater
