As a retired military recruiter, and a veteran, I highly salute Gary -

I have sung the National Anthem over 150 times in my life, and would be honored to sing with Gary at an appearence.

Your support of our troops is unparalleled and needs to be replicated throughout Hollywood!

    Mr.Sinise,

As a Vietnam veteran and member of Congresswoman Kristen Gillibrand Veterans Advisory Committee in Northern New York State (her district), I applaud your support and sense of patriotism and humanity toward our troops. Many talk about the war and the troops but only a few are really in touch with the atmosphere of this conflict. I support the President because he represents our country in good times and bad and that is my duty.
I did not write to describe politics but to complement you and tell you of a project that I am undertaking through the Congresswoman’s office. I am sure you are familar with the movie “Great Raid” starring Benjamin Bratt and the book it is predicated on “Ghost Soldiers”. Well, it is about the heroics of one Colonel Henry Mucci. The book and movie describes his efforts. I am trying to posthumously get the Congresswoman to initiate an action to the President to get him awarded the Medal of Honor. Mr. Mucci, like myself and perhap you and your ancesters, are Italian-Americans. Both myself and my father (born in Italy) were members of the US military and honorably fought in two (2) wars, Vietnam and WW II respectively. Colonel Mucci for some reason was bypassed and not awarded, I believe the highest military honor, perhaps because he was Italian-American at a time the US had fought against Mussolini etc. The times after WW II were difficult and this country was rebounding from a long and much more dangerous and significant type war (involving the world). People in this country perhaps do not understand that our efforts in Iraq may be more important than talked about. [Edited by mod. for political content.]  In any event, I am sorry for being as O’Reilly says verbose among other words. Keep up your spirit and assistance toward those who really matter and will keep us secure at this time in history. VM Milano
