Riverfest and Open Season
The Peoria Journal-Star has a nice article about Gary and his participation in Riverfest.
If you’re interested in finding out more about the animated feature Open Season, in which Gary performs as voice talent, check out this page at Movieweb for a trailer, featurette, and more. Open Season opens on September 29 in both regular theaters and IMAX 3-D.
The Cubs and Cadillac
Two quick items:
Chicagoland fans, Gary is scheduled to lead the seventh-inning stretch sing along (along with some football player) during tomorrow’s Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
As most of you know, Gary has been the voice of Cadillac’s “Break Through” ad campaign for some time now. Cadillac recently announced a new ad campaign that will use “different voices and music for every execution to directly connect with each target consumer group.” (Wow, love the PR speak.) Whether this means an end to the Gary-voiced commercials entirely isn’t clear, but it seems that campaign might be coming to an end.
Stay cool, wherever you are, and have a great weekend.
Lt. Dan Band in Canada this Weekend
The Lt. Dan Band will be performing at Casino Rama in Orilla, Ontario tonight and tomorrow night at 9 pm. Tickets are still available online (and are quite a bargain at under $30 each).
If you make it to the show, send us a report and/or pictures (to sinisefans at sinisefans.org) and we’ll post them here. Just let us know how you’d like to be credited — full name, first name only, whatever.
Catching Up
Sorry, all. I was at ComicCon with an author friend last weekend (her books totally rock, btw, you should read them!) and I got way behind on everything. (If you are interested, my report, such as it is, is in my personal journal.)
Anyway! Back now. Tired, but back. So here’s a quick round-up of news items:
And I think… we’re pretty much caught up. I hope you are all staying cool, wherever you are!
TV Critics Press Tour
Gary attended a CBS party at the Rose Bowl as part of the Television Critics Association gathering. He’s mentioned in articles here and here, and one critic thinks he has a pretty good throwing arm. (Nice picture with that article, too.)
New LDB Photos
The Lt. Dan Band website has great new photos posted from its recent USO tour and a separate page of photos from a recent performance at McChord Air Force base. Be sure to check them out!
More on the White House visit
We posted last week about about Gary’s White House visit for America Supports You, complete with CNN coverage. Not everyone involved was a celebrity — far from it, in fact. We have hometown newspaper coverage about the experience of the volunteers behind Operation Ensuring Christmas and Operation Shoebox.
Apollo 13 on HD-DVD
This doesn’t apply to most of us yet (including me) but here’s a review of something we can hopefully look foward to — Apollo 13 on HD-DVD.
