CSI:NY News

CSI: NY will be more character-driven than its predecessors, its creator says. From an LA Times article that ran this week:

“[Creator Anthony Zuiker] lured veteran film actor Gary Sinise to take on his first TV series acting assignment. And in the most significant departure from “CSI’s” signature style, “CSI: NY” will explore personal details of Sinise’s Det. Mac Taylor, as well as of Taylor’s partner, Det. Stella Bonasera, played by Melina Kanakaredes (”Providence”).

“”We’ll get into the psychosis of our people, and they’ll have real problems and real issues that will flesh out over time,” Zuiker says.

“Zuiker credits his star for pointing him in that direction. “Gary wants to play those character things, and I want to give him something with weight and substance.”

“Sinise says, “Anthony was committed to allowing the characters to live a little more on this show” than on the other “CSIs.” “I came up with a few things I think are important to who [Taylor] is.”"
